PROCESS & PRODUCTS
Q: I am interested in getting right:ratio for my pet. What do I do?
A: Start by providing information about your pet using this form. Once we receive your pet’s information, our team of experts will review and assess your pet’s suitability for a right:ratio treatment. We will confirm via email and provide detailed instructions on payment, formulation and delivery and instructions for use.
Q: What are the key cannabinoid extracts contained in right:ratio?
A: Each formula is custom made to precisely combine select cannabinoid extracts that can include CBD, CBDa, CBN, CBG, THCa and other cannabinoid compounds as well as cannabis terpenes, along with natural, select additives we choose for your pet’s specific condition.
Q: What exactly is CBD?
A: CBD is cannabidiol, a non-intoxicating component of the cannabis plant with significant medical potential. It is one of over 400 chemical compounds that exist in cannabis, and one of over 60 cannabiniod compounds. For example, there is CBD or cannabidiol, along with CBN or cannabinol, and CBG or cannabigerol.
Each of these cannabinoids has health benefits and each interacts differently with other cannabinoid compounds.
Q: Most other pet products only use CBD? Why does right:ratio contain additional cannabinoids?
A: Researchers have described the importance of the interaction between cannabinoids as the “entourage effect,” which means that CBD and other cannabinoids interact in complementary ways. For example, it has been scientifically established that “CBD and THC interact synergistically to potentiate each other’s curative qualities. CBD enhances THC’s painkilling and anticancer properties while lessening THC’s psycho-activity.”
We firmly believe that without minuscule amounts of THC, the medical effectiveness of CBD and other cannabinoids is greatly reduced and pets do not get the full potential of cannabis’ wellness power. THC and CBD have been described as “the power couple” of cannabis therapeutics for humans.
Q: Will my pet get high?
A: Our products are specifically formulated to prevent your pet from experiencing the psychoactive effect of THC or to act like they are “high.” Using proprietary software, we tailor right:ratio to deliver the precise amount of cannabinoids, to achieve the maximum medical benefits, without psychoactivity. Many pet owners report an improvement in their pet’s activity levels and enjoyment of daily life without reporting any psychoactivity.
Q: How do you make the formula precise for my pet?
A: We have developed proprietary software that allows us to use the scientific data we obtain from both our cultivators and third-party laboratory tests of our products before they are made into right:ratio. Each batch of input product (flowers and extracts) is tested by a third-party which produces a Certificate of Analysis (COA), the industry standard term for a written report on the chemical composition of the material tested.
We use the COAs from our suppliers and re-test each of our oils again with third-party laboratories to ensure accurate data about each cannabis component in right:ratio. For example, we have a high CBD oil that we know contains 58.92 mg/ml of cannabidiol (CBD). Using our software, we can compute the amount of that oil we need to 1/100 of a ml (less than 1/50 th of a drop) to add the precise amount needed for the pet concerned.
Q: Why do you custom make each formula?
A: Like humans, no two dogs are exactly the same and their responsiveness to cannabinoids, among other chemicals, is not identical. We factor as much data as we can about your dog to determine not only the ratio of CBD to THC, but the potency of those components, as well as all of our other proprietary ingredients.
For example, proper formulation is equally dependent in some cases on the particular dog’s age and breed, not body weight. Similarly, some breeds have demonstrated higher ability to tolerate different cannabinoid tolerances. while others are more sensitive to that component. By using our database and proprietary software, we take these factors into careful consideration when making your right:ratio, along with the most critical factor: the condition sought to be treated and the current medical regimen the dog is undergoing.
Q: What if your specific formulation does not help my pet?
A: If you have followed the dosing instructions, we will refund the price of the bottle.
Q: Why are your extracts not from hemp? Most other pet products for wellness use CBD derived from hemp.
A: This has been a core principle of our product development because we believe the science supporting the entourage effect as noted above. Equally important, because most of hemp for legal reasons is still cultivated outside of the US and extracted there, the concern of toxins from the soil such as heavy metals, is very high. And since there are no legal requirements that industrial hemp be tested by a third-party laboratory for independent results, consumers using CBD from hemp or industrial hemp could be passing very high amounts of toxic metals or other contaminants to their pets using these products.
Q: How many times is right:ratio tested?
CA law requires routine testing by third-party laboratories of all cannabinoid products. right:ratio meets or exceed those requirements for each product. We only work with select suppliers that test their input product when it is cultivated and harvested. At that time, the input material is tested to the capacity of third-party laboratories’ ability for potency, microbiological agents, and pesticides.
After processing the extracts, we again test the product for potency and residual chemicals from extraction and re-do the microbiologic and pesticide testing when working with a new input product (e.g., new crop).
Q: What pets do you formulate products for?
A: Presently we limit production of our products to dogs and cats.
Q: Are you a medical facility for pets?
A: We are not a medical facility. Information contained or made available through the right:ratioTM website is not intended to constitute or substitute for medical, legal, veterinary, and/or pharmacological advice. Consult with a veterinarian before use of this and any supplemental dietary product. It is important for all our visitors to know that these statements have not been evaluated by the U.S. Center for Veterinary Medicine or the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Q: Does a veterinarian formulate my pet’s product?
A: No. Each custom bottle is made using our proprietary software utilizing your pet’s unique conditions and data you provide. That software and the cannabinoids used, as well as our proprietary additives, have been extensively reviewed by veterinary cannabinoid experts and are evaluated and monitored for safety and efficacy.
