CBD is one of more than a hundred cannabinoids, and it does not act alone. Our formulas draw on CBD, CBDA, CBG, CBN, CBDV, THC and THCA, and the ratio between them is what makes a formula specific rather than generic.

Yes. Over ten years we have documented more than 8,000 CROMs (Client-Reported Outcome Measures) - structured check-ins with pet parents about how their pet is doing on their formula. We use them to refine our formulas.

We do not publish individual outcomes, and we cannot tell you in advance what your pet's response will be.

Our formulas contain THC in controlled ratios alongside the other cannabinoids, and that ratio shapes how it behaves. It is also why every formula starts low and increases slowly.

Start with the Right:Ratio Formulary when your pet has one main area of need and nothing complicating the picture. The formulas are fixed, they cost less, and they give us a baseline - if you later move to Custom, we already know how your pet responds.

Consider Custom Right:Ratio when your pet's needs are layered or complex, when your pet has a sensitive stomach, or when your pet's dose goes above roughly 0.5 mL of a Formulary formula.

Usually, yes. Each Formulary formula is built for one area of support. When two or three are in play at once, a single Custom tincture built from your pet's intake is simpler to give than combining two or three bottles.

Custom is individually formulated for one pet from that pet's intake, using our proprietary formulation software, with dosing instructions prepared for them.

It is also more concentrated, so each dose is a smaller volume. At higher doses Custom is often the less expensive option per day - a Formulary bottle at 0.75 mL twice daily lasts about three weeks.

Tell us who referred you when you complete the intake. If your veterinarian has directed a specific formula, we will follow it. If they have recommended us generally, we will read the intake and recommend a starting point.

F:1 | Feline Elixir Plus is formulated for cats, without added terpenes. Cats process some compounds differently from dogs, so a terpene profile suited to a dog is not suited to a cat. Custom formulas for cats are also available and follow the same principle.

Start low and increase slowly, following the dosing instructions that come with your formula and any specific instructions the Right:Ratio team supplies for your pet.

Hold each step for five to seven days before increasing, until you see the response you are looking for. Do not jump ahead, and do not change anything else at the same time.

The second dose carries your pet through to the next morning. Cannabinoids build up gradually, so consistent twice-daily dosing reaches a steady level over roughly three to five days.

On a single daily dose, each day starts near zero. Consistent dosing builds a steady floor rather than a daily peak.

It is the point at which what you give each day balances what clears each day, so the level stops resetting. It takes roughly three to five days of consistent twice-daily dosing. Until then, you are not yet seeing what that dose can do.

Cannabinoids absorb better with food, and a meal with some fat helps further. If you are giving a dose ahead of a specific event, such as a car ride, allow about ninety minutes, since oral formulas generally reach their peak closer to two hours.

Expect gradual change rather than a switch. In the first week you are reaching steady state. In the second week you begin to see whether the current dose is doing what you hoped. Change usually shows up first as your pet settling or recovering more easily, not as an overnight difference.

Often, yes. Tell us everything your pet takes, on your intake or when you contact us. Some combinations are worth a conversation with your veterinarian first, particularly medications processed by the liver, and we will tell you when we see one.

Any change to a prescribed medication is your veterinarian's decision, not ours.

Dosing is guided by your pet's response: increase gradually, and step back if you see unusual sleepiness or disorientation.

In practice, the limit most pet parents reach is volume. Above roughly 0.5 mL per dose of a Formulary formula, the better move is a more concentrated formula rather than more liquid.

First check two things. Have you held one dose for two weeks without changing anything else? And is your pet's dose above roughly 0.5 mL?

A Formulary bottle delivers a fixed amount per mL, so past a certain point the only way to give more is more liquid. At that point the answer is concentration, not volume.

It is the lowest dose at which you see the response you want while your pet stays fully themselves - alert, responsive to you, and able to settle. When you reach it, hold there for ten to fourteen days before considering any further increase.

This is the question we hear most, so here is a direct answer. Sleepiness is a sign the dose is too high, not the goal. The goal is a pet who is still themselves and simply settles more easily.

If your pet seems flat, wobbly or disoriented, step back down to the previous dose.

Look for gradual change in the everyday things that prompted you to start. For settling and stress, three signals usually show first:

• How quickly your pet settles after something unsettling.
• Whether they can turn their attention back to you when asked.
• How long it takes them to become unsettled in the first place.

Pet parents usually notice these before anything else changes.

You cannot, and that is the honest answer. Change one thing at a time. Hold the dose steady for ten to fourteen days while training continues, or hold training steady while you adjust the dose. Whichever you fix first, you will get a clear read on the other.

Sometimes, and sometimes not. A dose effect generally shows up across the whole day rather than at two specific moments. If the change is limited to particular moments while the rest of the day is calmer, something else is more likely involved.

Step the dose back down one increment and watch for five days. If it resolves, you have your answer. If it does not, the dose was not the cause.

Allow three to five days to reach steady state, then two weeks at a consistent dose before judging that dose. Most people who conclude a formula did not work changed something every few days and never held long enough to see a result.

You have reached the practical limit of a Formulary bottle, and the answer is concentration rather than volume. A Custom formula is more concentrated, so your pet receives the same amount in less liquid.

For example, a pet taking 0.6 mL of a Formulary formula typically restarts Custom at around 0.2 mL. The smaller volume is not a smaller amount.

Tell us. A change in your pet's health often changes the formula, and it is better to build around it than to adjust afterward.

Send it along and we will add it. Nothing is too small, and there is no need to apologize.

Let us know which one before it starts, if you can. Some medications change the ratios we would use, and knowing in advance lets us build around it rather than revise afterward.

Stop giving the formula and tell us. If the reaction is severe, contact your veterinarian first. We will look at the lot, the dose and the timing, and we will send a replacement bottle if you prefer.

Yes, and for long-term maintenance it is often a good fit. Once things are stable and you are looking at years rather than months of support, a Formulary formula is designed to run in the background. Because the composition differs from your Custom bottle, start at the low end and increase again.

Each Custom bottle can be formulated more concentrated than the last. That reduces the volume your pet takes while increasing what they receive, which is easier to give over consecutive bottles.

The Right:Ratio Formulary is sold through our online store and accepts credit cards. Custom Right:Ratio is individually formulated and invoiced separately, and for Custom we accept Zelle, PayPal or Venmo - not credit cards. It is worth knowing before you order.

Bottle life depends on dose. A 29.5 mL bottle at 0.25 mL twice daily lasts about fifty-nine days. The same bottle at 0.75 mL twice daily lasts about twenty.

If you are going through bottles quickly, that is the volume signal described above, and Custom is usually both easier to give and less expensive per day at that rate.
